myzz's views on the summer lans and the future of the COD4 team!

Well well well, heres my first blog on this site since joining infused. This blog will be focusing mainly on the summer LANs and the state of the COD4 team at the moment.

Firstly, TEX. The even was our first as a team and id be lying if I said it went how we thought it would go. Lots of problems before the vent with us not playing the days leading up to it with lots of problems at the event – no warm-up time, sensitivity felt messed up, headsets not working, all lead to a bad performance. I have to hold my hand up and say we didn’t perform as a team and the one bad game vs. 30P on crash really cost us. I learn a lot from this event not just only for myself but learnt a lot from the team as a whole.

All in all though, my first LAN abroad was a very memorable experience. It was the most fun I have had a LAN event, meeting all the players from around Europe, I had such a good time that I was pretty upset when it ended. Memorable moments would include ono freaking out over a spider on the ceiling after boasting about his stories of fights and other crazy stuff, ono bombing it past us on the hill on some random guys bike, vae having his nails panted just before we left when he was passed out drunk and then having to explain to everyone he met what happened, sitting on a park bench for an hour waiting for ono with Ben and vae with our mouths wide open by the site of so many beautiful women (I thought I was in heaven), and also teaching my 2 Swedish bum chums miracle and qlimaxzu how to do a tequila slammer in the sports bar which I think they both regretted the next day ;DDD.

I just hope I can go again next year playing MW2 to meet all the amazing people I met this time. Also sounds pretty sad but I was really nervous about going as I have a big problem with flying, I really don’t like it, I sat there the whole time with sweaty palms just wishing it would end. So on a personal level, I’m glad I went.

This then leads on to i37. We came into the event having practiced hard all week a little nervous as we hadn’t performed how we had wanted to at TEX. We had an early scare when losing to element in the group stages on crash (the same map we lost to 30P on at TEX). We had a big team meeting and discussed a few things and basically decided to play a lot more aggressive. We sat way to deep and this would work usually, but as we sat so deep, and still peaked it just didn’t work. We learnt that our play style is aggressive, and if we try to play anything else it doesn’t work.

Thankfully we managed to win the rest of our group stage games, and eventually finished 2nd in our group. I was a bit worried about this as we could potentially draw a team who finished 1st in there group, but thankfully we drew Crack Clan, a team I was confident of beating even with lighters playing for them.

This was a real turning point for me and the team. It was the first game at both events I felt confident as a team, we were cheering each other on, staying relaxed and calm, playing well, working for each other. It was the best game we had played so far and thankfully saved it for when it mattered and went on to win 13-8. We were really happy after the game and felt confident going into the next match vs. TCM.

We won the first half 7-5 and when we won the first round on attack on citystreets to go 8-5 up I felt the belief come into us. Unfortunately, someone wasn’t really performing and asked vae to drop the smg and if I’m being honest I think this really cost us as vae was performing amazingly well with the smg and eventually we went on to lose 13-8.

We then beat auric 13-11 on crash and then played Vitriolic on strike, a game I thought we would win easily. Unfortunately they gave us a very close game and a few moments by everyone but one memorable one by vae saved the day for us and we then went on to face Dignitas on crash.

The game started really well and I think we were 7-3 up at one point but sadly lost a few silly rounds to let them back in it. We went 11-10 up and I really did think this time I was going to beat them (after losing to them in the final at i36 with YYT) but alas it wasn’t our day and we lost 13-11. I was happy though, I was happy we proved some doubters wrong and finished our seed which was 4th.

More over I was happy with how I played, I’m a honest guy and I know I didn’t play well at TEX, especially vs. 30P, but I think I made up for it with how I performed on i37.

Now onto what were up to now. Since i37 we have all done a lot of soul searching, seeing what else was out there. We had a team meeting, and it was decided ono would scope fulltime and as a result we had to say goodbye to Leo. He’s an amazing player and a really cool guy and I hope I meet him at future events, it’s a shame you can’t have 2 scopes in COD4 as he was perhaps our best player overall at both LANs.

Next we had to say goodbye to Ben/bAc. Another great guy, and great player, unfortunately it didn’t really happen for him this summer, although he did pull of 2 of the sickest 1v4’s I’ve seen, we decided with the new game coming out soon we wanted to enter it with fresh faces, something he understood, and I wish my ginger buddy the best of luck for the future.

We have mainly been chilling, the rest of us, and playing mix cbs with my mix account YNC (much love to you all <3) and by doing this myself and ono have found our motivation again. I have loved my COD4 so much recently I can’t wait to get the line-up sorted and starting playing again.

One player is pretty much confirmed, although no announcement will be made yet. He’s an amazing player who will excite infused fans all over the world. The other is still to be found as we want to make sure the balance is right, the personalities, the skill, everything.

Other things that have been going on are such things as making a little movie with twrs for the infused TV section when it’s done.  Everyone can check out my amazing gaming skills below, so be sure to let twrs know what you think so he can make changes for future videos. It was an ace I got vs. oXmoze on Strike.

I think that’s enough boring of you lot for now so I’ll wrap it up. Look out for announcements on our team in the near future, and be sure to check us out at events in the future as well.

I’d just like to give a big shout out to Vanq for all the help and support he has given myself and the team since I have been in infused. Without you none of this would be possible. Also a special shout out to twrs for laughing at all my bad jokes, someone has to and I’m glad its your. Last but least a special thank you to all of the infused sponsors, your continued support and guidance is much appreciated by all the players and we hope you partner infused for many months to come. Much love to all, peace <3. See you on the battlefield.
